Kyler Leroy Parish, a 19-year-old resident of Porter, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty on April 28 to one count of abusive sexual contact in Indian Country. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Parish faces a potential sentence ranging from any term of years up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
According to the charging information, Parish engaged in sexual contact with a child under the age of 12 on March 18, 2024. The incident took place in Wagoner County within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation.
The case was investigated by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Parish’s plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after considering federal guidelines and statutory factors. Parish remains in custody pending sentencing.
