MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Cody Lee Pritchett, a 34-year-old resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. This offense carries a potential penalty of up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The indictment against Pritchett stated that he knowingly possessed several firearms and ammunition on February 4, 2025. These included a .22 caliber Derringer, a semi-automatic rifle, a short-barreled rifle, and various rounds of ammunition. His possession was illegal due to his previous conviction for an offense punishable by more than one year in prison.
This case resulted from an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered.
A U.S. District Court Judge will decide Pritchett’s sentence after reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines along with other statutory factors. Until sentencing, Pritchett has been released on bond under certain conditions.
