Tyler Morgan Doyle, a 37-year-old resident of Stilwell, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty on Mar. 9 to one count of involuntary manslaughter in Indian Country, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The case is significant as it involves a fatal incident that occurred within the boundaries of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation in Wagoner County. The charge carries a maximum penalty of eight years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

According to the indictment, Doyle unlawfully killed the victim on December 6, 2024. The indictment states that Doyle failed to devote full time and attention to driving, did not comply with required obedience to traffic laws, and operated a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The Honorable Jason A. Robertson, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Doyle’s plea and ordered a presentence investigation report.

A U.S. District Court Judge will determine Doyle’s sentence after reviewing federal sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors. Until sentencing is complete, Doyle will remain in custody with the United States Marshals Service.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lewis M. Reagan represented the United States in this matter.
