A Skiatook resident, Logan Christopher Murfin, 26, has been indicted on ten federal charges after allegedly making violent threats against federal law enforcement officers. The indictment was unsealed in Tulsa.

Murfin faces five counts of threatening to assault and murder federal law enforcement officers with the intent to impede, intimidate, interfere, and retaliate. He is also charged with five counts of interstate communication containing threats to injure.

Court documents allege that Murfin posted several statements on social media calling for the assault and killing of federal agents. He is accused of writing that agents should be “gunned down, shot, and executed,” and encouraged others to remain armed and kill agents on sight because they “don’t deserve to live.”

The investigation is being conducted by Homeland Security Investigations. The case will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

“An indictment is merely an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”
