Today in Tulsa, Oklahoma, U.S. District Judge Gregory K. Frizzell sentenced Henry Joseph Arthur, Jr., aged 52, to 120 months of imprisonment for arson and illegal firearm possession. The sentence also includes five years of supervised release.
Arthur’s criminal actions began in April 2023 when he devised a plan to set his ex-girlfriend’s house on fire. Surveillance and GPS data confirmed his involvement in the crime, leading to the complete destruction of the property. While on pretrial bond, Arthur failed to comply with court-ordered substance abuse programs and violated bond terms. A warrant was issued for his arrest, during which he was found illegally possessing a loaded handgun.
Court documents reveal Arthur’s extensive criminal history, including 19 felony convictions, protective order violations, domestic assault charges, and other public safety offenses.
The investigation involved multiple agencies: the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Creek County Sheriff’s Office; and the Kellyville Fire Department. The U.S. Marshal Service played a role in apprehending Arthur. Assistant U.S. Attorney Niko Boulieris led the prosecution.
This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that unites law enforcement at all levels with communities to combat violent crime and gun violence. Launched on May 26, 2021, PSN aims to foster trust within communities while supporting organizations that prevent violence through strategic enforcement priorities.
