Attorney General Gentner Drummond released a statement after the U.S. Department of Justice requested access to Oklahoma’s voter registration data as part of a nationwide review of election systems and data.

“The integrity of our elections is foundational to our republic, and efforts to identify and eliminate voter fraud are both appropriate and necessary. The U.S. Department of Justice is currently examining election systems and data across the country to ensure compliance with federal law and safeguard public confidence in the electoral process. Oklahoma shares that commitment.

“The state of Oklahoma will fully cooperate with any lawful federal requests related to the investigation of voter fraud. Oklahomans should have confidence that their state remains firmly committed to both election integrity and the protection of personal information,” Drummond said.

Drummond leads the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, which focuses on crime prevention, government transparency, strengthening tribal relations, and upholding the rule of law, according to his official biography. The office also collaborates with state and federal partners on organized crime issues and supports policies for educational safeguards, energy sector interests, and stricter laws against crimes such as rape and drug distribution.

Drummond brings nearly three decades of legal experience, including military service as a decorated U.S. Air Force pilot and founding a Tulsa-based law firm. His background emphasizes expertise in public service, business, and advocacy for laws addressing serious offenses like drug distribution and child exploitation (official website).

The Attorney General’s office operates within public legal services in Oklahoma (official biography).
