Dallas Charles Driskell, a 40-year-old resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty on Mar. 31 to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Driskell faces up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The case is significant as it highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to address illegal firearm possession by individuals with prior felony convictions.

According to the indictment, Driskell knowingly possessed both a revolver and a shotgun on July 1, 2025. He had previously been convicted of an offense punishable by more than one year in prison. The investigation involved the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the Muskogee Police Department, the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The plea was accepted by Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Judge Robertson ordered that a presentence investigation report be completed before sentencing is determined.

A U.S. District Court Judge will ultimately decide Driskell’s sentence after reviewing federal sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors. Until then, Driskell will remain in custody under supervision by the United States Marshals Service.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Olivia Staubus represented the government in this matter.
