Cesar Briseno Mauricio, a 26-year-old Mexican national, was sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry into the United States. The sentencing took place in Muskogee, Oklahoma, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Mauricio was found unlawfully present in Love County, Oklahoma. Authorities said he did not have permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission after being previously removed from the United States on March 18, 2020. He pleaded guilty to the charge on January 7, 2026.

The case resulted from an investigation conducted by U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

According to the press release, “This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.”

Senior District Judge Ronald A. White presided over Mauricio’s hearing at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan E. Soverly and Nicole Paladino represented the government in this matter.
