Ivone Monforte Leal, a 34-year-old Mexican national, was sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry into the United States. The sentencing took place in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Leal had previously pleaded guilty on May 22, 2025. According to investigators from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office, Leal was found in Wagoner County on March 26, 2025. She had been removed from the United States twice before and did not have permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to return.
This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, a federal initiative aimed at addressing illegal immigration and related criminal activity.
The sentencing hearing was overseen by U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby of Utah, who presided by assignment in Muskogee. Assistant U.S. Attorney T. Cameron McEwen represented the government during sentencing.
