Jose Trinidad Perez Fraire, a 38-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 105 months in federal prison for his role in a cocaine distribution conspiracy and for possessing ammunition as an illegal alien. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
Public records show that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) began investigating Fraire in May 2025 after receiving information about his involvement in distributing cocaine. On May 14, 2025, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Fraire’s home, where they found about three kilograms of cocaine, over $70,000 in cash, suspected drug ledgers, and ammunition.
Fraire was formally charged on June 26, 2025 with conspiracy to distribute drugs and being an illegal alien in possession of ammunition. He pleaded guilty on July 28, 2025 and admitted to conspiring with others to possess and distribute cocaine as well as knowingly possessing ammunition despite his immigration status.
At the sentencing hearing held on February 5, 2026, U.S. District Judge Patrick R. Wyrick imposed a sentence of nearly nine years in prison followed by four years of supervised release. Judge Wyrick stated that the sentence reflected the need for deterrence and public protection from further criminal activity.
The case was investigated by the DEA along with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Assistant U.S. Attorney Drew E. Davis prosecuted the matter.
According to officials, this prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America—a nationwide effort by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime.
