Joel Rebollero, also known as Joel Reboyar Calderon, Joel Calderon Reboyar, and Jose Bolero, was sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry into the United States. The 36-year-old Mexican national was found in McAlester, Oklahoma, without legal permission after having previously been removed from the country on June 4, 2008.

The investigation that led to Rebollero’s sentencing involved the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division along with the McAlester Police Department. On August 4, 2025, Rebollero pleaded guilty to one count of Unlawful Reentry of Removed Alien. Authorities reported that he had not received express consent from the Secretary of Homeland Security to return to the United States.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America. According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, “Operation Take Back America is a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.”

The sentencing hearing was overseen by Judge John C. Coughenour from the Western District of Washington, who served by designation in this matter. Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Cornell represented the government during proceedings.
