Daniel Ceron-Ceron, a 38-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for illegal possession of a firearm and illegal reentry into the United States after previously being removed. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
The case began on November 22, 2024, when Edmond Police Department officers responded to a domestic incident at a residence. According to public records, the victim reported that Ceron-Ceron pointed a gun at her head and put it in her mouth during an argument. After a standoff with police, Ceron-Ceron was arrested and the weapon was seized.
Records also show that Ceron-Ceron had been removed from the United States to Mexico on September 23, 2020. On March 4, 2025, a federal grand jury indicted him for being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and for illegally reentering the country after removal. He pleaded guilty on May 7, 2025, admitting both to possessing the weapon while unlawfully present in the U.S. and knowingly reentering the country illegally.
At his sentencing hearing on December 10, 2025, U.S. District Judge Jodi W. Dishman imposed the prison term of just over three years. Judge Dishman stated: “the nature and circumstances of the offense, the need to protect the public, and the need to deter Ceron-Ceron from future crimes” were factors considered in determining the sentence.
The investigation was conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement along with Edmond Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon prosecuted the case.
This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, which aims to use Department of Justice resources to address illegal immigration and related violent crime.
