Cesar Briseno Mauricio, a 26-year-old Mexican national, has pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry of a removed alien in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. The charge is punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine that could reach $250,000.

The case resulted from an investigation led by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division together with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. According to the indictment, Mauricio was found in Love County, Oklahoma, on November 17, 2025. He did not have consent from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission after being previously removed from the country on March 18, 2020.

This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America. The initiative aims to use all resources available to the Department of Justice to address illegal immigration and combat cartels and transnational criminal organizations.

The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson. The judge ordered a presentence investigation report before sentencing takes place. A U.S. District Court Judge will determine Mauricio’s sentence based on federal guidelines and other legal factors.

Mauricio will stay in custody with the United States Marshals Service until sentencing is completed.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan E. Soverly and Nicole Paladino are handling the case for the government.
