Jose Luis Jimenez-Hernandez, a 45-year-old Mexican national residing in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful reentry of a removed alien. The offense carries a potential prison sentence of up to two years and a possible fine of up to $250,000.

The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division. According to the indictment, Jimenez-Hernandez was found in the United States on July 24, 2025, without having obtained permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission after being previously removed on three separate occasions: January 10, 2012; June 14, 2013; and October 25, 2013.

This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative by the Department of Justice that coordinates resources to address illegal immigration and combat transnational criminal organizations. The operation involves efforts from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

“The Honorable D. Edward Snow, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.”

Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after reviewing relevant guidelines and statutory factors. Jimenez-Hernandez will remain in custody with the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen represented the government in this case.
