Marshall County man pleads guilty to kidnapping and theft on Chickasaw Nation Reservation

A Kingston, Oklahoma resident has pleaded guilty to kidnapping and theft charges related to an incident in Marshall County. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Louis Lee Ray Hamons, 23, entered a guilty plea to two counts of Kidnapping in Indian Country and one count of Theft in Indian Country.

According to court documents, Hamons unlawfully seized, confined, kidnapped, and abducted two victims on March 2, 2025. On the same day, he also took a vehicle valued at more than $1,000 with the intent to steal it. The events took place within the boundaries of the Chickasaw Nation Reservation in Marshall County.

The investigation involved multiple agencies including the Madill Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The Honorable Jason A. Robertson, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Hamons’ plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after reviewing federal sentencing guidelines and statutory factors.

Hamons faces up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine for each kidnapping count. The theft charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He is currently in custody awaiting sentencing.
