Willard Leroy Robbins, Jr., also known as Bub, was sentenced on Mar. 24 to 274 months in prison for second-degree murder in Indian Country, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The case centers on a fatal shooting and arson that occurred in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma, within Latimer County and the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation Reservation. The sentence follows Robbins’ guilty plea entered on May 27, 2025.
Robbins admitted to shooting the victim with a 12-gauge shotgun and setting fire to the residence. Investigators said that on April 10, 2024, county dispatchers received reports of an armed man walking along Highway 2. A responding Choctaw Lighthorse officer found Robbins intoxicated by the roadside and arrested him for public intoxication. Shortly after this arrest, authorities were alerted to a nearby residence fire where they discovered a deceased victim inside who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.
At the scene, investigators recovered two Remington-branded shotgun shells matching those found with Robbins at his arrest and identified a boot print corresponding to his footwear. Witnesses also reported seeing Robbins carrying a shotgun before the fire.
Senior Judge Ronald A. White presided over sentencing at federal court in Muskogee. Assistant U.S. Attorney Edith A. Singer prosecuted the case.
Robbins will remain in custody of U.S. Marshals until he is transported to a Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his non-paroleable sentence.
