Ashley Nicole Castleberry-Miller, a 31-year-old resident of Kingston, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for involuntary manslaughter in Indian Country. The sentence also includes three years of supervised release after her incarceration.
The case was investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and the Seminole Police Department. Castleberry-Miller pleaded guilty on April 3, 2025. According to investigators, on April 20, 2024, she caused the death of a victim by failing to pay full attention while driving. She crossed the center line without caution and was operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicating substance other than alcohol at the time of the incident. The fatal crash took place in Seminole County within the boundaries of the Seminole Nation Reservation.
Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the sentencing hearing in Muskogee. Castleberry-Miller will remain in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service until she is transferred to a Bureau of Prisons facility to serve her sentence, which does not allow for parole.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Gross prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
