A Holdenville resident has pleaded guilty to a federal firearms charge in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Lariat Wayne Jagger, 32, admitted to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The offense carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Court documents state that on July 2, 2025, Jagger knowingly possessed a 12-gauge pump action shotgun and 13 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition after previously being convicted of an offense punishable by more than one year in prison.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives worked with the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office on the investigation leading to the charge.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted Jagger’s plea and ordered that a presentence investigation report be prepared. Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge who will consider federal sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors.
Jagger is currently held by the United States Marshals Service until sentencing takes place.
