A Honduran national, Jeffry Gabriel Zamora-Pineda, 33, was sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry into the United States. The sentencing took place in Muskogee, Oklahoma, according to an announcement from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Zamora-Pineda had previously pleaded guilty on April 22, 2025. Investigators reported that he was found in Oklahoma on March 19, 2025, after having been removed from the country in 2019. He did not have permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission.

The investigation involved both the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Environmental Protection Agency.

“This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).”

Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jordan W. Howanitz and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Olivia Staubus.
