Carlos Mendoza-Padilla, a Honduran national also known as Marvin Antino, Carlos Ivan Mendoza-Padilla, and Carlos Ivan Mendoza, has been sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry into the United States. The announcement was made by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Mendoza-Padilla was found unlawfully present in Carter County, Oklahoma. He pleaded guilty on June 5, 2025, to one count of unlawful reentry of a removed alien. Investigators reported that he was discovered in the United States on May 4, 2025, without having obtained permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to return after previous removals on February 19 and November 18, 2016.

The case resulted from an investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Carter County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, “This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).”

Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over Mendoza-Padilla’s hearing in federal court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Mendoza-Padilla will remain in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service until he is transported to a Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence without parole.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Cornell represented the government at sentencing.
