Henryetta man pleads guilty to transmitting threats across state lines

Jason Mance Van Orsdol, 47, of Henryetta, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to one count of interstate transmission of threatening communications. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Van Orsdol could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

According to the indictment, on September 24, 2025, Van Orsdol knowingly sent a communication containing a threat to injure another person using interstate commerce channels.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation leading to the charge.

Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted Van Orsdol’s plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and ordered a presentence investigation report.

A U.S. District Court Judge will decide on sentencing after reviewing federal guidelines and statutory factors. Van Orsdol will remain in custody with the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.
