Henryetta man pleads guilty to sexual exploitation charge involving minor

A Henryetta, Oklahoma resident has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of sexual exploitation of a child. According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Claylon Leon Austin, also known as Clayton Leon Austin, age 38, admitted guilt to one count of using a child to produce a visual depiction. The offense carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.

Prosecutors said that between March 13 and March 14, 2025, Austin enticed a minor to participate in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of making videos with a device that was manufactured outside Oklahoma.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police.

U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted Austin’s plea and ordered that a presentence investigation report be prepared. Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after reviewing federal sentencing guidelines and other relevant factors.

Austin remains in custody with the United States Marshals Service until sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Wittlinger prosecuted the case.
