A Hartshorne resident has pleaded guilty to federal firearm and explosives charges, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Kelly Von Morck, 35, entered a guilty plea to two counts of unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as one count of user of a controlled substance in possession of an explosive.
The Superseding Indictment stated that on October 20, 2024, Von Morck knowingly possessed several firearms—including a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, .22 revolver, 16-gauge shotgun, .38 caliber revolver, .30-06 caliber rifle—and 559 rounds of assorted ammunition. All items had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce. On June 26, 2025, he was also found with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and 82 rounds of ammunition under similar circumstances.
Additionally, the indictment alleged that Von Morck possessed an explosive device on October 20, 2024. The investigation involved multiple agencies: the Hartshorne Police Department, Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Bomb Squad, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
“The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.”
“A U.S. District Court Judge will determine the sentence to be imposed after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.”
“Von Morck will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly represented the government in this case.
