Daniel Job, a 38-year-old resident of Del City, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for committing arson. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

The incident occurred on July 27, 2024, when the Del City Fire Department (DCFD) responded to reports of a fire at a local restaurant. Upon arrival, firefighters found and extinguished a small blaze near one of the building’s doors and detected the smell of gasoline. Surveillance footage revealed an individual, later identified as Job, approaching the door where the fire started and placing something on the ground just before ignition.

Following identification as a suspect, investigators executed a search warrant at Job’s residence. They discovered a backpack containing a hydration bladder filled with gasoline. Subsequently, on September 4, 2024, a federal Grand Jury indicted Job on charges of arson.

Job pleaded guilty to intentionally setting fire to the restaurant on December 17, 2024.

During the sentencing hearing held on June 5, 2025, U.S. District Judge Patrick R. Wyrick imposed a sentence of 60 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. Judge Wyrick highlighted the dangerous nature of deliberately setting fire to a business structure when delivering his judgment.

The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in collaboration with the Del City Fire Department and Del City Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stan J. West prosecuted the case.

Further details can be found in public filings.
