Coweta resident pleads guilty to child sexual exploitation material possession

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Cody Michael DeGraw, a 30-year-old resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to possessing material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor. This offense carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

According to the indictment, DeGraw knowingly possessed visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct from December 20, 2023, until February 27, 2025. These materials were accessed with the intent to view them.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), part of the Department of Homeland Security. The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered.

A U.S. District Court Judge will decide on the sentence after reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. DeGraw is currently in custody with the United States Marshals awaiting sentencing.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Morgan Muzljakovich and Sarah McAmis.

Jason Paul New has pleaded guilty to armed assaults and transporting a stolen vehicle across state lines. The crimes occurred within the Choctaw Nation Reservation in Oklahoma. Sentencing will follow completion of an investigation report.
