Coal County man receives prison sentence for possessing stolen firearm

A Coalgate, Oklahoma resident has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for possessing a stolen firearm. Treyvian Jamal Mason, also known as Tray Mason, age 22, received the sentence following his guilty plea on June 11, 2025.

The case was investigated by several law enforcement agencies, including the Coalgate Police Department, the Coal County Sheriff’s Office, the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Investigators stated that on February 13, 2025, Mason knowingly possessed and concealed a stolen semi-automatic pistol and was aware or had reason to believe it was stolen.

Judge Timothy M. Reif of the United States Court of International Trade presided over the sentencing hearing while serving by assignment in the District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Mason will remain in U.S. Marshals Service custody until he is transferred to a federal prison facility to serve his sentence without parole.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Gross prosecuted the case.
