Checotah man pleads guilty to methamphetamine distribution charge

A Checotah resident, Jason Duane Henrichs, has pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Henrichs, 47, entered his plea to one count of Distribution of Methamphetamine, a charge that carries a potential sentence of five to forty years in prison and a fine up to $5 million.

According to court documents, Henrichs was accused of knowingly and intentionally distributing five grams or more of methamphetamine on November 22, 2022. The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Judge Robertson also ordered a presentence investigation report.

Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after consideration of federal sentencing guidelines and other legal factors. Henrichs is currently being held by the United States Marshals Service while awaiting sentencing.
