A resident of Bryan County, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender. Dock Lee Shoemaker, 60, from Calera, entered the plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. This offense is punishable by up to ten years in prison.

The indictment against Shoemaker stated that he was convicted of felony sexual battery on February 3, 2016, in Oklahoma. As a result of this conviction, he was required to register as a sex offender. However, between August 2020 and April 16, 2025, Shoemaker did not fulfill this obligation while moving within Indian country in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The U.S. Marshals Service conducted the investigation leading to this charge. The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Shoemaker’s plea and has requested a presentence investigation report.

A U.S. District Court Judge will later determine Shoemaker’s sentence after evaluating the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines along with other statutory factors.

Shoemaker is currently held by the United States Marshals Service awaiting sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessie K. Pippin represented the government in this case.
