Broken Bow resident pleads guilty to federal firearm charge

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Kenneth Marvin Bray, also known as Marvin Bray, aged 54 from Broken Bow, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge. The charge involves being a felon in possession of a firearm and carries a potential sentence of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

Bray was indicted for knowingly possessing a 9mm semi-automatic pistol on November 30, 2023. This possession occurred after he had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year in prison.

The investigation leading to this charge was conducted by the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted Bray’s plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered.

A U.S. District Court Judge will determine Bray’s sentence after considering relevant guidelines and statutory factors. Until sentencing, Bray will remain in custody under the supervision of the United States Marshals Service.
