Broken Bow man sentenced to 15 years for child sexual exploitation

Dylan Hansen Yazzie, 29, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 180 months in prison for one count of sexual exploitation of a child and use of a child to produce a visual depiction. The sentencing was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Broken Bow Police Department. Yazzie pleaded guilty to the charge on February 13, 2025. Investigators stated that between July and September 2023, Yazzie coerced or induced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct to create a visual depiction intended for transmission in interstate or foreign commerce. The offense took place in McCurtain County, within the Choctaw Nation Reservation.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute offenders as well as identify and rescue victims. The sentencing hearing was overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Yazzie will remain in U.S. Marshals Service custody until he is transferred to a Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence without parole.
